While I typically love your colors, Ian, this one isn't working for me. It almost seems like he's wearing a plastic suit. On the other hand, I really love the linework on this one.

No problem, Mark.

He is shinier than I normally do - I figure the intensity of the lightning and the Sun Boy effects are creating more of a contrast, more of a shine, than is usual on these figures.

Just trying something different.

I like the CS picture quite a bit. I didn't take it as shiny so much as illuminated.

No complaints here. I kind of figured that's what you were doing. It just looks a bit odd to me. Won't stop me from looking at your stuff everytime you post it. Or hunting down comics you've colored (outside of expensive archives...).

I really dig these Ian. The combination of thick outline and saturated, shinny colors works quite well. They are like super-hero drawing done for a children's book.

The Pimp, I've really been enjoying your stuff, especially these recent ones with the sorta contour on the outside and the great color rendering. Very cool look to them.

Very cool. How did you do the radiating lines effect? Blur filter?

Thanks :)

It's a combination of effects, topped off with the radial blur.

The dissolve gradient tool is your friend ;)
