You're getting better, Ian. Those tips I emailed you have really paid off. Wonderful painted quality to this that normally only I could pull off.

Here's another new one - this was commissioned by the guy who runs the Iron Man Armory website. Lineart by Bob Layton (natch :) ).

The '10 Years' note refers to the fact that the site has been around for a decade!

hey Ian, although i've enjoyed your coloring style over Layton's and Banks' work( that wonderwoman and cheeta piece was pretty cool) , i also like this painterly type style you've used on these pictures with the kids. have you ever thought of using a style like that on your superhero pieces?

Thanks - well, normally people want a fairly standard super-hero type of colouring. I've done some experimenting with different styles (there is a Punisher 2099 pic that uses a combination of styles), but mostly with fantasy-style work.

But, hey, I'm always looking to try new things too :)

This is a commission for IMWAN's own Gerry Turnbull!

My colouring over Paul Smith's lineart:

I really enjoy seeing your coloring. Sorry I haven't commented in awhile.

When I first saw that piece uncolored, I didn't really care for it. Now I LOVE it! That's the mark of a great colorist.

Ooooo...now that's purty. Your enhancement of the lighting in particular.

As always, well done.

Beautiful work. Ian! I love how you separated the foreground and illuminated the good doctor and Black Knight!

This year, the Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards have started a category on Canada's Top Web Comic Creator.

My webcomic, BATTLEWITCH, is on the list!

So, I encourage all Canadians here to check out the website for the awards, and, hey, even vote for me! Voting on all the awards (not just the webcomic stuff) starts in March.

Back when I worked at Digital Chameleon, one of the most fun things to do was colour Young Justice. I enjoyed the heck outta that series, the best part being Todd Nauck's artwork.

A little while ago, I had been commissioned to colour a pencil piece of Wonder Girl by Todd. Here are the results:

This is an image that has been kicking around in my head for a little while. I actually started drawing it on the 1st of February, but only just got around to finishing it (the good part about having to archive a bunch of stuff on CD is I'm forced to get away from my computer for a little while, so I can break out my inks and brushes).

Yeah, Shulkie should be taller - even at this perspective, she's a bit too small, but I kinda like it :)
