I asked my niece Calida what kind of picture she would like from me.

She said a unicorn.

So, here's a picture of a unicorn that I just finished up that I'll be giving her for Christmas.

Beautiful. Oh... many references (but not all) say that unicorns have cloven hooves and silky beards. Kind of an odd point, but than again, fantasy allows for a broad interpretation.

I love this picture. Really beautiful!

Well, I've always preferred the simplicity of the 'horse with a horn' version.

But, then, it almost got a set of Pegasus-style wings ;)

And thanks

Ian... I don't know if this came up before, but who do you consider to be some of the best colourists in the business? I like Dave Stewart and Paul Mounts and most recently Frank D'Armata.

Whoa!

That all out battle between Spidey and the Torch is great!

And the unicorn pic is good, too. I especially like the amount of detail you put in the background.

Thanks folks :D

Rob, Dave Stewart is my fave in the business. I also really like what Dave McCaig does, excellent stuff!

A little while ago, the guy who runs the 'Iron Man Armory' website bought a couple of my sketches. Recently, he asked me to colour them.

So, here is the coloured version of the Iron Monger piece.

This was a request from the same guy, a subterranean-style armour variant for Tony-Wony.

You are welcome, sir. I would love to be able to color like you, but I haven't found the knack. I love the subdued tones and the overall unity you achieve. I have trouble keeping the intensity consistant from hue to hue. Hats off to you.

Another commission, my colouring over the pencils and inks of Christopher Ivy.

I've never gotten to work on Doc Savage before - this was pretty cool, and brought back some cool memories of reading those old pulps. Oh, and this is Pat with him.

I've started going crazy again, doing nothing but artwork for others.

So, I decided to colour this Shulkie piece - the pencils have definitely been one of the most popular pieces I've ever done!

Hey, Ian. I had posted on your welcome thread asking if you were the same guy who had colored some of Bob Layton's commissions, and I see by perusing the last 12 pages that you are. I've been a big fan of your work since I first saw the Armor Wars montage you colored on Bob's website (it's still my desktop image to this day).

Anyway, Bob did a commission for me earlier this summer, and had the offer to get it digitally colored by you. I didn't have the extra coin at the time, so I passed, but is it possible to still get something like that done?

Hey, Roger - thanks for the kind words! (I don't know how I missed your post earlier)

Sure, you can still get that piece coloured - just PM me here and I'll get you the particulars :)

Here's something (cross-posted from the Supey-Woopey thread) that I coloured over the pencils of IMWAN's-own Glenn Brown!
