This is a good example of what a good inker can do with the power and the inclination to do good. I drew this pirate yesterday for the comic Dead Men Tell No Tales from Arcana. The deadline was pretty tight so I sketched a pirate in an hour on copy paper. I scanned it and sent it to my good friend Jeff Austin. Check out the job he did on it. He is sure making me look good.

For a rush job those pencils look pretty good to me...that being said....Jeff did one heck of a ink job!!

Does your friend work professionally? He does nice work.

I would imagine that's similar to how a penciller credited with layouts and an inker credited with finisher would work. Jeff kept your basic layout and added a lot of texture to flesh it out into something similar, yet with many differences from the pencils.

Both of those are very nice. Do you have any examples of things where Jeff has done both the pencils and the inks?

Yes, Joe. I alluded somewhere that I was going to be putting the finishing touches on him and some other customs next week, when I take a long-needed vacation! I will definitely make sure you get some good pictures of him when he's finished.
