As I mentioned in another thread, I have begin watercolour painting and feel like sharing the results. I think I'm getting better, but started off laughably badly.

This was one of my first attempts, from a couple of weeks ago:

And this is one I'm wwworking on now for Cath (my soon to be ex wife) for Mother's Day:

Still a lot to do on it yet, but I'm pleased with the way it is going.

I love watercolours. The second one looks best to me too.

Might you also try some famous people? A watercolour Laurel and Hardy?

As I say I'm quite aware how limited these are, but I'm really enjoying learning new things as I go. I'm noticing things that need correcting in all of them as I look at these photos too!

Finished article. Still notice the wrong things more than the right ones, but this is absolutely the best I can do at the minute.

I had another go at this, a while back. This is my niece.
The background is truly awful, looking like some kind of apocalyptic nightmare, but I like the way the light falls on her face.

The improvement in your technique is clearly visible. That looks really good.
