True, but you can get help with the foreshortening. Gene Colan used to tell us to use action figures.
It never really helped me, personally. Colan was probably able to use his imagination in a way to bridge the gap between the toy and his final drawing.

Thanks! I figured it'd be better to have some idea of what was going on and I could only do that (with the way it's drawn) by coloring it.
Besides, I was kinda curious myself.

What's really great is thinking I'm done and I've left off some accoutrement from the uniforms.
