I think that has a really good chance of winning.

As for the FF submission, they had said notification can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 90 days.

So I think that would put it around the middle of next month.

Hopefully I'll live long enough to find out something.

Tweaked it already to make her face and the spear have less noise around it. Lopped off some limbs. Added some in other places like behind her fist. Little easier to see now.

Thanks, James and everyone. I don't think it will win, though. It's just not...hip enough, ya know? That could have been drawn any time in the last 60 years.

On top of that this challenge has the strongest artwork I've seen in one of these. The suck to good ratio is inversed.

Incredible. By far the best work I have seen from you. Not to say I have not liked your previous work, but this is better.

I think you might be right about its hipness going against it, but it is very good. If it doesn't get picked up I think you should honestly consider trying to market it yourself.

I tried to keep to the Beardsley model and just use lines with no rendering, shading. or cross-hatching. No shadows, even, where they would have been appropriate, like under the knobs on her belt.

The size she is also, worked better with as little clutter as possible. It has enough just from her gear.

Final tweak and it is submitted. Complete with text.

I notice some evil boxes made it thru. The only reason I spent two days drawing the tops of those trees was to avoid the evil box.

Where it concerns my art, less angst does not apply to me, by the way.

Teh Threadless community hates designs confined to a border or a box. One of the reasons my initial TMNT was rejected. We talked about it in the last thread. But it's arbitrary as some get thru.

Some of them are like the JBF over there, a herd mentality parroting rants but in their case about borders.

Case in point:

Image

"Really great design, little shame for the box-shape"

"I agree with gabras. Absolutely beautiful design, but the placement in the middle of the shirt in a box makes it look cheap. I think it would look better without the frame, if the rays/lines just faded out. Or maybe - if possible - make the design larger on the shirt so it can still have the frame and black parts at the bottom and sides (lining up with the bottom edge and sides of the shirt), but leave it open on top and let the rays just fade out towards the collar."

I think it's a 5, myself. But I'll give it a 4.

They want an all over t-shirt design.

This is one of the stupider affectations I have come across in a while.
