Beachy is the maestro when it comes to this stuff. I find it too time-consuming to get things just right and enjoy seeing what random oddness the AI will serve up when I give it very short, clear, concise instructions.

Weird depth of field effects in that one.

Especially after reading this article: https://restofworld.org/2022/ai-backlash-anime-artists/I agree with that concern generally. The one we've been using here claims to be using copyright free materials though. The cynic in me sees it as inevitable. They'll also eventually replace writers as well as we see with that ChatGPT thing. Both are crude but imagine what they'll be in 10-20 years. I think at some point people will be able to order a custom movie with these prompts. "I want a Star Wars movie written in the style of Quentin Tarantino and starring Clint Eastwood, Bruce Lee, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Jean Claude Van Damme. Happy ending, lots of lightsaber duels, and at least four dance battles." What 'people'? By then, without any curbs on AGI, there will be no work for drivers, educators, shop workers, ANYONE other than the tiny minority of billionaires running the whole show. We will be surplus to requirements. That's if the AI hasn't already got to the point where it can do quite well without humans at all, thanks very much. The rest of us are doomed, I'm afraid. DOOMED.

I'm unclear on what use AI would have for billionaires.

As I said, the 'billionaires' will only survive as long as the AGI is blind to their irrelevance. IF they have built in some sort of fail-safe or something. Or their 'Igors' have. Otherwise

I think it's more likely that the billionaires will have robot armies that they'll use to enslave the rest of the human race.
I don't know why I think that, but I do. I'm an optimist, I guess.

I don't know if we're doomed. "Natural" intelligence evolved in animals because it provided an evolutionary advantage to passing on genes; so we tend to use it in some nasty ways, just as we use all our other 'red in tooth and claw' abilities. But if "Artificial" intelligence is not driven by the same biological imperatives, it may turn out to be quite different in nature.

Without biological imperatives artificial intelligence might develop in unimaginable ways.

I think we all need to watch the 1984 movie masterpiece Electric Dreams so we're better prepared for the AI revolution.
