I've got three or four books by these guys that give year-by-year and sometimes day-by-day accounts of the greatest acts in popular music, and I find them endlessly fascinating. I haven't seen an updated volume in ten years, so I might have to check this out.

Jim: I agree-I used to love their books, but I saw this one at B&N and it's pretty lame-avoid it. It's not at all an updated version of the excellent VH1 sponsored book they did.
