I don't know if anyone has read this great Sabbath bio, but I do recommend reading it. Martin Popoff does a great job with this book.

Product Description
Nearly 40 years of drugs, depression, booze, the Beast, and paranoia are laid out in unflinching detail in this journey into the wicked world of Black Sabbath. With numerous albums that are routinely on "best of" lists, an influence on contemporary acts that cannot be overstated, and an original lineup—fronted by the infamously addled Ozzy Osbourne—that continues to tour, Black Sabbath still fills coliseums and amphitheaters all over the world. Through rare and previously unpublished interviews, documents, and artifacts spanning the band's entire career, readers get an all-access pass to Sabbath's manic history, from bat-biting to rehab. The book contains new and never-before-seen photos and conversations that shed more light on metal's dark forefathers. Every album is cataloged, every song poured over, and every tour deconstructed—making this headlong rush down metal-memory lane the definitive reference to the band.

Read it. Highly recommend it. Really in-depth chapters about the making of the albums.

It is very good, but some of the info is incorrect (a video for "Devil And Daughter"? Uh, no). For the most part it's excellent and great to see every album represented.
Popoff's writing style is an acquired taste, but his dedication to all things Hard Rock/Heavy Metal is outstanding.

Yes-I have both and thumbs up to both. The Rainbow book is better, but get both. The UFO book might be his best one yet. Both Deep Purple books were disappointing though.

I wish I'd bought the one he did on Blue Oyster Cult when it was still available.

He did an updated version that is out now. I don't have it since they've done nothing since the last book-but look for the new version on Martin's website!
