Product Description The first edition of Down the Highway, published ten years ago, took the story of Bob Dylan's career to the end of 2000, just before his sixtieth birthday in May 2001. Among other things it broke the story of Dylan's secret last marriage to one of his backup singers, and the child that came of that union. The new, updated edition of this classic rock biography will cover the significant events in Dylan's career over the past ten years, leading up to his seventieth birthday in 2011. These have been busy, creative and successful years for Dylan, who has enjoyed renewed popularity around the world, scoring his first number one album since the 1970s and receiving acclaim for his satellite radio show and memoirs. It also offers us an opportunity to publish new and exclusive interview material that was not available 10 years ago. As in the first edition of Down the Highway, Sounes will write about Dylan the man and Dylan the artist in this updated edition, covering the release of important new albums "Love and Theft" (2001), Modern Times (2005), Tell Tale Signs (2008), Together Through Life and Christmas in the Heart (both 2009). The author will address Dylan's latest foray into acting, with the motion picture Masked and Anonymous (2003), his decision to tell his own story in the 2004 book, Chronicles Vol. 1, and to collaborate with Martin Scorsese on a documentary about his life, No Direction Home (2005), as well as discussing Dylan's wonderful radio show, Theme Time Radio Hour, and his continued commitment to live performance. When Bob Dylan turned 60, his milestone birthday was widely celebrated. Dylan turning 70 in 2011 will receive similar international attention, providing another opportunity to review the life of this great American artist and catch up with all he has done over the past ten years.http://www.amazon.com/dp/0802145523/?tag=imwan-20
