I used to see him in his wheelchair in the long-defunkt East Village record store Finyl Vinyl. At the time I didn't realize who he was, but I could tell he was "somebody" by the way the store owner was pulling out obscure R&B records to play for him.

His brother was the celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder.
