"Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut" is one of my absolute favorite Spider-Man stories. I have always been curious about one thing.

Essentially, Spider-Man (after much perseverance) defeats the Juggernaut through a lucky break (Juggernaut slogging into a recently poured foundation of wet cement during their fight), as opposed to outsmarting him (IE- intentionally tricking Juggernaut into slogging into the wet cement.)

Do you remember if there was any specific reason you chose end the fight that way?

Much thanks for your time and answering previous questions.

If you go back over that story closely, you'll see that Spider-Man both caught a lucky break at the construction site and managed to maneuver Juggernaut into the wet cement. He wasn't sure that he could do that -- wasn't sure he'd be able survive the beating he was getting. But once Juggernaut was chest deep in the cement, Spider-Man knew that his desperate attempt had worked.

It was really the only way Spider-Man could stop Juggernaut temporarily.

And I had the next story -- with Juggernaut breaking free -- all figured out. I had planned to do it as an AVENGERS ANNUAL -- probably with Spider-Man guest-starring. It was going to be a really big deal!

But before I could get to that plot, Juggernaut was just matter-of-factly brought back in an issue of X-MEN, as though nothing had ever happened to him.
