...give or take a few hours, that a bunch of us folk who wrote and/or drew Superman found ourselves on the Warners Lot, appearing as extras in an episode of a little series called Lois & Clark.

That's Yours Truly applauding at Center Screen, next to a swooning Teri Hatcher. Right behind me in Cap and Shades is Denis Rodier, and slightly behind him, under the Superman pennant, is Tom Grummett. At the right of the screen is Big Jon Bogdanove, with his son Kal-El on his shoulders and his wife Judy just in front of them.

"Ready for my close-up, Mr. Luthor!"

His son is really named Kal-El? :) I own the first season on DVD and keep meaning to watch the episode where you're in the crowd just so I can say I saw you. I think the show holds up pretty well, cheesy effects aside. Teri Hatcher is my ideal Lois.

Yes, he is.

And now, from twenty years ago TODAY (August 17, 1993) ...

Try not to notice that the Daily Planet Building is only three stories tall.

From left to right, that's Dan Jurgens, Yours Truly, Doug Hazelwood (who's standing just behind me), Jerry Ordway, Louise Simonson, Glenn Whitmore, and Brett Breeding.

(I think I still have those shorts.)

It's Episode 4: "I'm Looking Through You" ... when it originally aired, I started getting phone calls during the first commercial break ... "Was that YOU tugging on Superman's cape?!?"

Yes. Yes it was.

This is a bit of awesome coolness I wasn't aware of. I'll have to look for this and you.

One last one, from August 19, 1993 ...

(Sorry for the grainy quality of the photo. It was scanned from a newsprint copy.)

Left to right: Dan Jurgens, Louise Simonson, Yours Truly, and our book editor Charlie Kochman ... posing with each others books at the end of a San Diego Con news confrence.

As you can see from the posters, our books went on sale August 25, 1993.
