Primarily an instrumental surf band out of Phoenix, The Swamp Coolers have mostly marketed their music through the digital download market, even when they do produce hard copy CDs. Most of the band members began their careers in the sixties and have played in backing bands for everyone from Chuck Berry to The Drifters to BB King to Eric Clapton to the 1910 Fruitgum Company and the Ohio Express. Lead guitarist Terry Keel actually got his start with the 60s vocal group Up With People and bassist Mike Kunes was a founding member of the Deadly Nightshades.

"Santa's Little Girl" only features two new holiday tracks, the title cut and "Stay Til Christmas Day," both originals and both vocal tunes. 9 tracks were taken from their 2007 album "Christmas Classics", "The Ukrainian Bell Carol" from their most recent release "Surfing The Dream", and the album closes with two non-holiday tracks previewing The Swamp Coolers' next release. With the exception of the two new vocal tracks, the album's Christmas tunes are instrumentals that combine a twangy surf guitar sound with tropical steel drums. "Santa's Little Girl" and "Stay Til Christmas Day" are both currently streaming on MySpace, if you want to check them out. But you should also check out the song samples (at CD Baby) for "The Ukrainian Bell Carol" and some of the other instrumentals.

The album will hit iTunes and other digital download sites early in November (the "official" release), but you can download it now through CD Baby. No definitive word on whether hard copies will be produced but, if they are, you'll likely find those at CD Baby also.
