I went yesterday, and the minimum discount is now 20%, but they did not raise everything up 10%, just the 10% stuff.

And now I get an email stating 25-50% off.
Blu-rays are at 50%.

Do you have to be a Borders member to get the emails about one's local store?

I think so, but I am not a Rewards Plus member and I still get them.
I just have my email linked to a regular rewards card.

Hit Puyallup, Wa today (closest one left).

Blu 50% off (however the original prices are so high that most are still higher than Amazon, BB, etc)
DVD "Clearance" titles (random choices by store employees 50%
DVD 25%
CD "Clearance" titles (random choices by store employees 50%
CD 30%

Bought A Dan Hicks CD I'd never heard of og Tangled Tales for $7.

There were some good deals on some budget cd's, but I already had them all.

They had political books on sale for 40% and I scooped up The Next 100 Years. What a fascinating book... and the graphic design for the cover is amazing too.

Finally got the chance to sneak up to the Tyrone Square Borders today, where I found a Barnes & Noble open for business across the street.

I'm thinking zombies and talking apes are far more likely, although there is still a chance - let's call it roughly 3% - of talking zombie apes.

I got an e-mail from Borders today - increased discounts on music and DVDs (I think - I didn't really pay attention) but only for a couple days. And what do you know - the Borders Rewards Plus discount is now extended until 8/10. I have 8/10 - do I hear 8/12? 8/12? Anyone willing to go 8/12?

I'm glad they're extending it as long as they can. People did pay for them, after all.

I agree, but be frigging honest about it - they never intended to cut them off on 8/5 or 8/7. They're using it as a carrot to drag people in earlier.
