I recently bought a book from a French author because although I don't know French, I was not willing to wait until an American publishing company bought the rights to translate this book. For the most part, they turn their noses at these types of books because they believe there is no market for them. Since this book is set in contemporary France as opposed to England during the 1930's, the guy who usually translates his books may think that this book shouldn't be a high priority as far as translating goes.
Well, it's slow work, but I'm typing the text into Google Translate, and then I'm translating the translation. I don't want to step on somebody's toes, but I *really* want to know if I am doing a decent job or not. If I do not mention the name of the title or the author, can I post what I have done in this thread?

What if you mention both and don't make it cryptic? Realizing that Google translate screws up syntax, meaning, and all sorts of other language errors, are you working on cleaning it up? You can usually get the gist of something with Google translation, but I don't know about an actual book.

Course, there could be some copyright violation (not your intent) that could cause problems for IMWAN. So probably better to just tell us what you're reading, let people comment as they want (or don't), rather than posting any content.
