Grey and blank above
The wind-chimes tinkle sweetly
Yet also threaten

Fast, firm, akimbo
Warm limbs saddle each other
A tango of bliss

Life presses hard, fast.
I do what I need to do:
Make a Saving Throw.

Somewhat breathless, old
lower back advertising:
Just back from shoveling.

Mist rising from trees
Sun setting on the hilltop
I am almost home

Chilly before dawn
The frogs woke early this year
They croak to keep warm

Daylight Savings Time:
One more hour of darkness
My Life out of sync

Early winds gust hard
Clouds race across the deep blue
The glassy pond stirs

I don't know how to
write a Haiku correctly
I screw up the last line

It's pretty simple.

Five syllables first line
Seven syllables second line
Five syllables third line

And they are traditionally on a nature theme.

Little Screech Monkey
Knows all too well what he does:
He's a poo flinger.

Fifty degree days
White thaws into dirt brown goop
Minnesota Springs

Jonquils are blooming
They survived rain and snow
Yellow grace intact

The dawn cracks,splinters
Night retreats like a coward
Life's a Beach Party.

A splash by the bank
I walk on through the dawn's light
Not knowing the cause

Since I won't be here tomorrow, here's one for the road:

The water is still
A beaver's wake cuts the pond
Then stillness returns

It's true, I fling it
But who could really blame me?
Life's truly my Beach.

Clouds part like lovers
Beaded drops reflect the sun
It's in between time

Saturday morning
Light drizzle spits toothlessly
Time to go shopping
