Oh my my my. I can't believe I'm doing this.
What you have here is the first screenplay I ever wrote....and it shows.
What happened was, I was writing movie reviews for my college newspaper, and my editor Mike Friedman and I would constantly chat about how we could write movies much better than the ones I just had to review. One night, he simply said "Why don't we?", and that was the start of it.
He had me send him some story ideas, about ten in all, which he promptly rejected, one after the other. Desperate, I sent him one last idea: "What if a hitman found the preserved body of Jesus, and then he stole it?" He dug it, and we started writing that same day.
It's bad, folks. Really bad. We were both heavily into Tarantino worship at the time, and it shows. The big gunfight at the end is just a huge rip off of the fight in Leon's apartment in "The Professional". There's a lot of "Preacher" in it, too. About the only thing I'm proud of is the conversation between Vinny & God. But, it was my first screenplay, and you know what they say....you always remember your first.
So without further ado....
