Kansas have issued a trailer for their upcoming documentary Miracles Out Of Nowhere.
The film tells the story of their rise to fame and features original band members Phil Ehart, Dave Hope, Kerry Livgren, Robby Steinhard, Steve Walsh and Richard Williams.
A message on their website reads: “In 1973, six guys in a local band from America’s heartland began a journey that surpassed even their own wildest expectations by achieving worldwide superstardom.
“Watch the story unfold as the incredible story of Kansas is told for the first time in Miracles Out Of Nowhere.”
The band are offering fans who pre-purchase the film on either DVD or Blu-ray an exclusive bonus disc featuring footage that will not be included anywhere else.
Miracles Out Of Nowhere is set for release in spring 2015.

I kid you not, the 3 minute clip above looks magnificent.
I hope this covers their whole career.
There looks to be lots of rare footage.
I do not know what the bonus DVD for pre-ordering has, but I may go that route. I also wonder if this includes Walsh's retirement and the new lineup-doubtful.

Living on the edge.
I have mixed feelings about this. I'm glad it's being done and I'll certainly want to see it, but I wish it had been done a bit sooner. It might have given the touring band a shot in the arm while Steve Walsh was still touring. Now that he's retired, any boost will go to the touring band which to me just isn't the same without Walsh. It does look good though and I'm definitely interested.

Here is the trailer referenced above.
The official website also mentions a "Companion Soundtrack CD" included with both the DVD and Blu-ray releases, but no additional information is provided.

Nice. I'll have to see it when it comes out. As far as Steve Walsh goes, he sings on one of my favorite Steve Hackett albums beautifully (Please Don't Touch from 1978).

Working part time at Barnes & Noble, I'm trying to pre-order this item and it lists it as a CD and not a DVD purchase. I know there is a CD as part of the package, but how is the DVD attained?

Unless they're getting an exclusive CD-only edition, it's likely that they have it catalogued under CDs but it's actually the full DVD/CD set.

Looking at this track listing you'd think their career stopped at 1977.
My fears that this focuses solely on the big years might be right in which case I will skip it.
I'll let you know. It's due to arrive today. Probably won't get to it till later in the week.
Thanks Mark!
It arrived today. I bought the edition from that web site to get the bonus DVD. Looking forward to watching the BR disc though. It's only 78 minutes long, which is a disappointment considering how long that band has existed.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of The Vampire Diaries - Season 2 (disc one). As soon as I finish that disc, I'll pop this in and give my report.
