Details on the "Memoirs Of A Madman" 2-DVD set are as follows:

DVD One features more than two dozen of Ozzy's classic and unforgettable music videos from across his discography, including a bonus alternate version of "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and making-of footage from the videos "Let Me Hear You Scream" and "Life Won't Wait".

DVD Two features live performances and interview clips spanning Ozzy's solo journey, much of which makes its debut on DVD. Some selections have appeared on long-out-of-print VHS releases; others will be seen here for the first time, making this an essential package for fans old and new. Ozzy Osbourne - Memoirs of a Madman

by Kevin Wierzbicki

.
With the book "I Am Ozzy" Osbourne has already written his memoir but fans have a chance with this 2-DVD set to see some of his solo career play out through performance and also hear Ozzy being candid in interview segments that were taped between 1981 and 2010.
Some of this material was previously available on now out-of-print VHS but mostly this is stuff that'll be new to the viewer. Randy Rhoads fans will love the four-song concert filmed in Rochester, New York in '81 where the band plays "I Don't Know," "Suicide Solution," "Mr. Crowley" and "Crazy Train;" a low-fi clip of "Over the Mountain" filmed in Albuquerque in '82 rounds out the Rhoads-era footage.

At the tail-end of this segment is an MTV interview clip where Ozzy talks about the plane crash that killed Rhoads and others; it is amazing to think this piece was taped barely weeks after the accident.

In another segment Ozzy talks about how albums were made in the Black Sabbath days versus how he does it now and here he admits that he's ashamed of the Sabbath album Never Say Die.

Other interview segments are quite amusing; in one clip Osbourne talks about how rumors of his on-stage antics are often far beyond anything he's ever actually done, saying he's heard tales of how he "sawed a goat in half and blew up four dogs."

More live performance clips include "Bark at the Moon" and "Never Know Why" featuring guitarist Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde-era takes on "Bloodbath in Paradise," "Tattooed Dancer" and "Miracle Man."

Presented more or less chronologically, cuts from various Ozzfests are included as are interview segments of Osbourne opining on everything from the recording sessions for the Ozzmosis and Scream albums to the photo shoot for the Black Rain album.

All of this rare footage makes the Memoirs of a Madman DVD set a must-see but that's only half of what fans will find here; there's a full disc crammed with all of the Ozzy videos, 30 of them in total and including all the hits as well as clips of "Mr. Tinkertrain," "Crazy Babies," "Perry Mason," "Back on Earth" and "Let it Die." Bonus videos included are an alternate take on "Mama, I'm Coming Home," "Changes" performed with daughter Kelly Osbourne and "The Making of" clips for "Life Won't Wait" and "Let Me Hear You Scream." This collection fits quite comfortably into the "essential" category.

Picked this up for less than $20.00 today. Well worth it. Over 4 hours of the OZ.
