Brooklyn OWNS this charmer!
Well...let the speculation begin on whether or not Shout! Factory will get it right (or, rather, secure all the music rights)...but they just announced they're gonna do the Complete Series!
In 2007, Fox released a 3-disc set of The Complete 1st Season on DVD, but sales of the title suffered because a lot of the original music had been cut or replaced throughout the episodes. As a result, Fox never moved forward with further releases, but fans never stopped wanting this show on DVD. Now the good news: our friends at Shout! Factory have licensed the show's home video rights, and are planning to deliver all four seasons of the sitcom together in one package with WKRP in Cincinnati - The Complete Series on DVD! No timeframe for this title has been set, and they clearly are aware of everything fans want to see on every season of this release. This is just an early heads-up that the item is in-the-works, to whet your appetites. Stay tuned, of course, and we'll update you as further developments occur! Our thanks to reader Todd Eizikowitz for his contribution to this story.

If they get the original music, I'm in.
If only for two or three episodes, I'm in. Fortunately, there are a lot more that make it worthwhile. But for the flying turkeys, Tiny Dancer and the DUI test - those three alone make it worth my time.

I'm unconditionally in as long as the original soundtrack is back. I'd prefer blu ray, but I'd take DVD.

Outstanding!--Shout Factory has yet to let me down, and I'm going to try and be optimistic here. Wikipedia says that there were 90 episodes, so I'm guessing that means anywhere from 12-16 discs.
What always amazes me is that according to Wikipedia, 47 episodes of "The New WKRP In Cincinnati" were also produced--I wouldn't have guessed that many; I anticipated the show quite a bit, but lost interest in the show fairly quickly. That's about seventeen more hours of "WKRP" that have been unseen for over a couple of decades. I always wonder where these episodes are even stored.

I was thinking convenience, but like I said, I'll take it any way if it has all of the original music and the content is unedited.

The Shout! Factory, which issues DVDs and Blu-ray discs of old TV shows and movies, has acquired the home video rights to "WKRP." All four seasons will be released in a boxed set with the original rock music, said Tim Reid, who played DJ Venus Flytrap.

Just noticed that this popped up on the Amazon site...
"Please note: Where possible, original music from the series is included in this release. Over 70% of the original music is contained in the set. Missing music is due to inability to obtain rights for some content."
No mention about the episodes being complete and without edits, which I certainly hope is the case, but the fact that 30% of the original music is missing is a bit of a buzzkill. I just hope that they fought hardest to clear the music that was integral to the plot so that scenes didn't have to be snipped. If the 30% is only incidental, I can live with that I guess, but I wish it was there.

Gonna have to hear specifics about the music exclusions when this is released. There is some stuff that I could probably live with if it wasn't the original, but...
