The Rolling Stones to release 'Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live' DVD
The Rolling Stones have confirmed plans to release their Hyde Park gig on DVD and Blu-Ray in November.
The band headlined two nights in the London park in July of this year (2013), following on from their Glastonbury festival performance. The DVD, titled 'Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live', will be released on November 11 and captures the band's full performance, a full two-hour set plus backstage footage. A live album recorded during the shows has already been released.
Mick Jagger recently said that he would love to play Hyde Park again. Speaking to NME about the gigs, Jagger said they were not a time to think about the last time the band played Hyde Park in 1969. Comparing the 2013 date to 1969, he said: "Well the stage was less crowded. The funny thing is when you see the '69 one it's all your mates onstage sitting down. But this time I saw some of my kids sitting on the side of stage. It's like chalk and cheese really."
When asked if he would play Hyde Park again, Jagger replied: "Not this year… I haven't given it any thought and nor has it been offered. But I'd love to do it. It's a great gig. I did enjoy it. It was beautiful… It turned out to be so wonderful with the sun going down behind the park. It was a perfect London evening."
The tracklisting to 'Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live' is:
'Start Me Up' 'It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll' 'Street Fighting Man' 'Ruby Tuesday' 'Doom And Gloom' 'Honky Tonk Women' 'You Got The Silver' 'Happy' 'Miss You' 'Midnight Rambler' 'Gimme Shelter' 'Jumpin’ Jack Flash' 'Sympathy For The Devil' 'Brown Sugar' 'You Can’t Always Get What You Want' '(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction'

Looks like quite a few differences between the video and the previously released iTunes version! The download includes "Tumbling Dice", "Emotional Rescue", "Paint It Black", and "Before They Make Me Run", while the DVD/Blu-ray includes "Happy".
And that's not even getting into which performances came from which night...

The Rolling Stones have announced a November 11th (November 12 in North America) release of “Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live”, a new package capturing the band’s historic return to London’s Hyde Park with a 2-hour live concert and highlights package including new and unseen backstage footage.
In July, the Stones played two concerts in the famed London venue before a combined total of more than 100,000 fans.
“It was a great gig,” said Mick Jagger. “It was beautiful with the sun going down over Hyde Park. I can’t think of a better way celebrate the Rolling Stones’ 50 than doing it on our home patch in front of 100,000 people on a glorious summer night…enjoy it… we certainly did.”
“Coming back to Hyde Park was like a full circle being drawn, and the band were in top form,” added Keith Richards. “We thought what could be more appropriate than having a great summer in London!”
“Sweet Summer Sun – Hyde Park Live” will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, 2CD + DVD, 3LP + DVD, and a Deluxe Edition featuring a 60 page book + DVD + Blu-ray + 2CD package.

I suppose you're right. But, one of them is a song the Stones hadn't done live in ages (Emotional Rescue), so that's kind of irritating. The other two don't bother me much. I could live without hearing Paint it Black - or Satisfaction, for that matter - ever again, if necessary. Tumbling Dice isn't that big a deal either. It's just...what's the point?!?
