This is more interesting than any Tigers series - Yankees vs Amazing Mets! No Pay-Rod (or A-Roid or A-Rat whatever his nickname is today). http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E4Q6U5A/?tag=imwan-20

The Yankees were a strong team that year. The Mets somehow got into the World Series with a little Bobby V magic and an outfield of unknowns. The Mets infield was strong that year led by Piazza.

The funny thing is the Yankees had both the lowest record and the lowest run differential of any playoff team that year. They beat very good A's and Mariners teams (two years in a row, at that). They were in a middle of a run that ended when Mo blew the save in Game 7 in Arizona; the kind of run that hasn't been seen since and maybe won't be seen again.
