I just got the Season 2 box from a 3rd party reseller on Amazon and I'm not entirely sure I didn't get a bootleg.
Here are the things that made me suspicious.
1.) The sticky plastic label that doubles as a seal for the tri-fold box. I'm not used to seeing these applied directly to the cardboard of a box set as it could rip the cover.
2.) The plastic disc holders appear to have been glued in backwards with a single slot on the first fold (and the dvds inserted from back to front rather than front to back).
3.) The dvd labels have a sort of translucent metallic effect rather than the bright opaque colored labels used on Season 1.
4.) The playing surface of the dvds are all speckled, like water spots, but they don't wipe off.
5.) The discs were all scratched, finger-printed and smudged like they had been well-used, even though the package was sealed.
Does anyone have this set (or maybe some experience with what bootlegs look like) who can comment?
I'm still working my way through the set, but so far the dvds load without delay or issue and have similar video quality to Season 1.
Thanks,
Vince
I'm late in replying, but this may still be useful to you. I got mine directly from Amazon.ca and it is similar, but not identiical, to yours:
1) Seal was directly on the cardboard. Came off easily without harming the package.
2) Single disc-holder in first fold, doubles on second and third. Second disc behind third disc, fourth disc behind fifth disc.
3) My disc labels seem fairly opaque. They look normal to me.
4) No speckles.
5) No scratches or finger-prints. The discs are pristine.
Maybe your set is a reseal? The seal on mine came off easily in one piece so perhaps your third party seller (or whomever they obtained it from- I don't want to accuse them of anything as it could be an honest mistake) used it and put it back on. It's so hard to tell with after market sales.
