http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052Y0FCC/?tag=imwan-20Emerson, Lake & Palmer, also known as ELP, are an English progressive rock super group. They found success in the 1970s and sold over forty million albums and headlined large stadium concerts - one of the largest at California Jam (Cal Jam) in 1974 was in front of 200,000 people. The band consists of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass guitar, vocals, guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums, percussion). They are one of the most commercially successful progressive rock bands and from the outset focused on combining classical pieces with rock music. The legendary Rock Band reunited to celebrate their 40th Anniversary and headlined London's first High Voltage Rock Festival. This was the historic moment when Emerson Lake and Palmer performed for the first time since 1998. This spectacular performance with extravagant special effects and lighting recaptured the magic and musical genius of Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer as they performed their greatest hits in front of thousands of fans and leaving a lasting memory of the stunning musicianship of these three legendary performers.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer's 40th Anniversary Reunion Concert will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 23th. Here is the synopsis:
Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) reformed for the first time since 1998 for their final show to headline the High Voltage Festival on Sunday, July 25th 2010. And what a show it was!
2010/2011 marks the 40th anniversary of the creation of Emerson Lake and Palmer. ELP was a predominant force that laid the foundation for all progressive rock.
The band consists of Keith Emerson, the explosive keyboard who came from the Nice, the sultry vocals and extraordinary bass of Greg Lake from King Crimson and the theatrical and extraordinary drumming of Carl Palmer, who emerged from Atomic Rooster.
ELP became the first true prog-rock Super Group and defined an era. This is a show that brings back the same theatrics that the highly creative and unsurpassable combination of Keith Emerson's legendary keyboards, Greg Lake's extraordinary voice, and the dramatic drumming of Carl Palmer to their core fan base and to the new generation that hails the musical and technical virtuosity that ELP delivered at every performance, and recorded in every album.
Songs Include Their Greatest Hits - Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression - Part 2 - The Barbarian - Bitches Crystal - Knife Edge - From The Beginning - Touch and Go - Take A Pebble/Tarkus - Farewell to Arms - Lucky Man - Pictures At An Exhibition - Fanfare for the Common Man/Drum Solo/Rondo
Bonus Materials: - Interviews with managers, Rock music journalist, tour manager and archivist. - Contains brand new interviews by Rock DJ Nicky Horne with Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer

Anyone get this yet? I've heard it's a mix of good and bad and that Lake throws a hissy-fit due to sound glitches and starts screming "feedback!" during a song and that Keith's keyboard sounds were lacking and that the whole thing has defeat surrounding it. However, some have said positive things about it online but that may be fans with no desire to say bad things. I'd bet it's somewhere in-between and I think I'll pick it up.

IP, this disc blew me away. I must admit, I was alittle afraid of being somewhat disappointed because, well 40 years is 40 years, BUT with that said this is a must buy. Not only was Greg lake in fine voice but they played all of their old favorites and some in new innovative ways, like "Tarkus" where the piano was the lead and not the Hammond (and it works!)
The camera work was very good aswell, no quick hyper-active jump cutting but very well placed cameras and sweeping panaramics as well. Excellent sound and even the crowd was very into it and they make it known. (Damm,.I knew I should have went)
The 30 min doc & interviews is good and revealing. Sad thing was ELP had to cut their show about 15 minutes due to previous bands performance overruning into ELP's time. It seemed their was hard cutoff agreement probably with neighbors of the festival.
But don't let this sway in anyway, one of the best live DVD's I bought all year and a great way for ELP to go, right on TOP!
