I'm definitely interested in seeing this, but I can't imagine I would watch it more than once, so hopefully this shows up on Palladia or some other high-def cable channel. Also, aren't the Sound City Players just Foo Fighters and a couple of other players? I just saw a clip of them performing with Rick Springfield and it was very good.

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Taking it back tom'w - it locks up and pixelates in chapter 3 (when Neil talks about the sound of the Neve console).
But glitch aside, what a cool little movie. Loved hearing them talk about the atmosphere of the studio. Loved that they got so many people from the studio on camera. I love the behind-the-scenes studio stuff, even if it wasn't focused on the technical stuff so much. I really got a kick out of hearing some of the studio banter. The footage of Johnny Cash recording there made me want to see so much more of that. And even though I'm not even remotely a Nirvana fan, I loved the footage of Dave Grohl playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" today blended in with the video.
The moment that resonated the most for me was watching Grohl recording with Paul McCartney, specifically when they were recording the vocal harmony bit and Grohl said, "Why can't it always be this easy?" and McCartney said, "But it is." God, I've felt like that (the Grohl side) so often recording stuff, even on the small scale I do it.
What sucks is I'll probably have to wait about a week for the replacement copy.

Great doc! Played it last night and found it to be fun and educational. Many of the stories were new to me and watching the recording sessions had the "fly on the wall" feel.
