The King of Pop will return to London this summer for a series of over 40 concerts, with an audience total of over one million! They are supposed to be his farewell concerts, but the man is only 50 and not very frugal. There will be more concerts in the future, I'm sure. But no Jackson 5 reunion with Michael, I'm afraid. Too bad. He is also trying to buy back his Neverland estate. Auctioning off personal belongings like the diamond-studded glove.

I only like a few of his songs and his last CD was a long time ago. I have checked him out on youtube and stuff and I really like the song "Rock With You". But because of his trial and face-changing, I'm kinda wary of the guy. But I don't doubt that many people will be excited by this news. So thanks for posting it, Googa.

If it's because of the child abuse allegations and the lawsuits, then I can understand why you've dropped him from your playlist, Renny. But suppose he really was innocent in both cases? You'd think if he got stung once, he wouldn't be foolish enough to have kids round the ranch for sleep over. It is just as likely that the families of both boys in question saw Michael as an easy way to get rich.
I think Michael was a genius until BAD in '86, from then on he's had moments of genius, like his last chart single, "You Rock my world", which is like the son of "Rock with you".

It is just as likely that the families of both boys in question saw Michael as an easy way to get rich. I agree with that assessment. Based on what I read and heard about the second trial, if I was a part of the jury, I would have acquitted him. I think he's guilty personally, but based on the credibility of the parents and the way the case was presented, I would have voted "not guilty." Either Jacko didn't do it or the LA prosecutor is incompetent.

It is just as likely that the families of both boys in question saw Michael as an easy way to get rich. Yeah, I think you have to take into account Michael's personality too.I personally think he's a very trusting soul who's had so little contact with the the real world face-to-face.He's an adult, but to me he's the equivalent of a poorly socialised child, who's left all the major decisions to assistants and PA people and is incapable of seeing the threat of unscrupulous individuals out to exploit him. If you saw the Martin Bashir documentary from a few years back,he allowed that journalist access to his private world, only for the subsequent documentary to portray him as some kind of freak.A breach of trust Michael did not foresee.I wondered that once it was perceived that Jackson was on the financial downward slide, all the employees given to his PR let things slip.California I suspect may be very fickle like that. Another documentary I saw featured another Jackson family member Tito,on a trip to England with a view to buying a property on the south coast. The guy who invited him was former security staff (claimed to be a close friend) who no sooner as Tito had arrived at the airport in England had arranged for a pack of photographers to converge there. One wonders how in touch the Jackson clan are with the real world, and the efforts of some to exploit them for financial gain.

If you read the few interviews Michael Jackson has done over the years, particularly the long one he did around the time he was being considered a child molester you may have noticed the man is a pathological liar. I wouldn't trust a word the guy says. It makes me angry when a man with so much talent has to lie and cheat his way through life instead of writing and performing music as he should be doing.

http://www.nme.com/news/michael-jackson/44541 Michael Jackson's London O2 Arena gigs to ease credit crunch?
May 8, 2009
Michael Jackson is being touted as an unlikely saviour of the economic crisis thanks to his mammoth residency at London's O2 Arena.
The King Of Pop has sold out 50 dates at the venue, with the shows tipped to bring in £1 billion for the economy, according to second-hand ticket website Seatwave.com.
Joe Cohen, chief executive of Seatwave, told BBC 6Music how beneficial he thinks Jackson's gigs are likely to be.
"There's gonna be somewhere near on a billion pounds worth of economic activity brought to London through hotels, restaurants, shops, pubs, people coming to see Michael Jackson," he said.
He continued: "It's the Michael Jackson economic stimulus package that the tax payer isn't paying a penny for."
Cohen added that Seatwave has sold in excess of 10,000 second-hand tickets for Jackson's gigs, which kick off on July 8.

http://www.nme.com/news/michael-jackson/44599 Michael Jackson enlists 'High School Musical' director for London O2 shows
May 12, 2009
Michael Jackson has enlisted 'High School Musical' director and choreographer Kenny Ortega to collaborate with him on his forthcoming gigs at London's O2 Arena.
The King Of Pop sold out all 50 dates of his 'This Is It' residency at the venue when they were announced in March, with the first gig set to take place on July 8.
Ortega previously worked with Jackson on his 'Dangerous' and 'HIStory' tours, and was also the man behind the choreography on the 1987 film 'Dirty Dancing'.
In a statement, Ortega said he is aiming to create a "theatrical musical experience" for the shows. Meanwhile, Jackson's gigs are set to be the most expensive and technologically advanced ever staged, according to the concerts' promoters.
AEG Live promoter Randy Phillips has revealed that the budget for the gigs is "north of $20 million" (£13 million), adding that the shows will include 22 different sets.
"It's going to be the biggest, most technologically advanced arena show - and the most expensive - ever mounted," Phillips told the LA Times.
Commenting on tabloid reports that the shows are due to include elephants, monkeys and a guest appearance from Jackson's son Prince Michael, Phillips would only confirm that "no animals" will feature.
Phillips claimed that Jackson had undergone a four-hour physical with an independent physician this spring, in which no medical inadequacies were found. The singer is supposedly currently completing an aerobics course with a personal trainer.
He confirmed that Jackson will perform between 18 and 22 songs at each gig, with aerial dancing similar to routines by Cirque du Soleil set to feature in some parts of the shows.

Don't start counting that stimulus money just yet... From CNN.com: http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/0 ... index.htmlSeveral of Michael Jackson's comeback concerts in London have been postponed until next year because producers can't be ready in time for the July debut, according to a "Dear Customer" e-mail sent to ticket holders Wednesday.
The delay comes days after the concert promoter said Jackson was in good health, contrary to media reports he was diagnosed with skin cancer.
Jackson's "This Is It" shows were to begin July 8 at London's 20,000-capacity O2 Arena.
"It was not an easy decision to change the schedule but in the end we wanted to ensure that all of Michael's fans attending the concerts get the same quality in staging and level of entertainment," said the Ticketmaster e-mail sent to someone who bought tickets for the fifth show.
"In order to deliver a phenomenal and unprecedented show -- the first show on the 8th July will take place on 13th July 2009," according AEG Live, the promoter of the London concerts. "The subsequent shows on 10th July will be moved to 1st March 2010, 12th July will be moved to 3rd March 2010, and the show on the 14th July will be moved to 6th March 2010."
The delay is "due to the sheer magnitude" of the concerts, AEG said. The decision "to move back a few of the opening shows" was needed "in order to meet the challenges presented by such a massive and technically complex show," it said.
Randy Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live, last week denied reports that Jackson had skin cancer.
"He's as healthy as he can be -- no health problems whatsoever," the executive told CNN on Saturday.
"Michael, who is directly involved with all aspects of the styling/choreography/band selection and rehearsals, is working around the clock to ensure this is the show to end all shows!" AEG said in it's delay announcement.
Jackson held open auditions for dancers last month at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Promoters released a video this week showing that process and ending with a clip of the 12 dancers who were chosen meeting Jackson in an undisclosed gym in the Los Angeles area, where he has been preparing for the shows.
Ticketmaster, in its e-mail, assured the ticket holders they would "have the same seat originally purchased."
"You do not have to do anything as you will be automatically allocated the same seats and moved to the revised date," it said.

http://www.nme.com/news/michael-jackson/45043 Michael Jackson 'angry' at 50 London shows being booked
Jun 2, 2009
Michael Jackson has hit out at his London O2 Arena gig bookers, saying he believed he only signed up to play 10 shows - not the 50 he is scheduled for - at the venue.
Speaking to fans outside the Los Angeles dance studio where he's rehearsing for the gigs, the singer admitted that he might not be physically well enough to complete all 50 shows, reports The Sun.
"I don't know how I'm going to do 50 shows," he said of the gigs, which kick off in July. "I'm not a big eater - I need to put some weight on."
The star then laid into the gig promoters, saying he only wanted to play ten shows at the O2 Arena.
"I'm really angry with them booking me up to do 50 shows," he said. "I only wanted to do ten, and take the tour around the world to other cities, not 50 in one place.
"I went to bed knowing I sold 10 dates, and woke up to the news I was booked to do 50."
Michael Jackson has already postponed the start of the residency from July 8 to July 13 citing production issues.
