We do know already that this will include an expanded Unplugged. I'd prefer that Unplugged remain a standalone DVD, since I already have it, but I guess I'll be buying it again as part of this set.
Again, here's hoping we'll see...
* Full show from the Revenge tour, 1992.
* TV stuff on the official KISS convention tour from Late Night With Conan O' Brien, 1995
* Reunion tour press conference, 1996
* MTV News clips on reunion tour, 1996
* Full show from the Alive Worldwide tour, 1996-1997
* Full show from the Psycho Circus tour, 1998-1999
* MAD TV KISS skits from the Halloween 1998 show
* Full show from the "Farewell" tour - possibly the full show from the Meadowlands 2000 that was edited and aired on pay-per-view as The Last KISS

Several years ago I bought a VHS bootleg of the complete Unplugged show and it was pretty entertaining, but it seemed like every song had a ton of false starts and they had to go back and redo several songs. I hope they edit together a complete Unplugged without all the false starts. Also, I would think they would include their performance of Christine Sixteen with the Gin Blossoms from the Letterman show as well as Hard Luck Woman with Garth Brooks from the Tonight Show. Also they could include their appearance on the show Millenium where they had unmasked cameos early in the episode playing security guards(if my memory is correct) plus at the end they performed Psycho Circus.

I'm loving both volumes so far and I'm sure this one will be no different. Has there been any confirmed release date yet?

No release date yet, but as I understand it, they wanna get it out for Christmas, so we should be getting the release news pretty soon.
I figured that maybe we'd get it sometime next year, maybe for fall or the 2008 Christmas season - but I guess they're on a roll and wanna cash in while the momentum is going.
I'm guessing after the strong sales of Volume I, they went right into 2 and 3 as their game plan.
And if Volume III sells, I suspect they'll be more. If Gene $immon$ can make another buck, he will.

Hey...as long as the product is worth buying, I'll give money to Mr. Simmons. I'm curious as to what they have left after this volume though. KISS Symphony was released as was Rock The Nation. KISS activity has been limited in the millenium.

If there are future KISSology (or whatever else they may call it) volumes, I'd rather see them fill in gaps left by the first three, like Anaheim 1976, Largo 1975 as well as various TV appearances, interviews, etc.
Believe me, they could release two of these puppies a year just with the classic '70s era stuff alone - there is a lot of stuff out there on bootlegs.
Hell, I'd even buy one with the full Largo 1977 show that was an edited bonus disc from the first KISSology - why they didn't include that instead of the lesser-quality Houston 1977 on Volume I is beyond me.

Those complete Unplugged videos have been circulating for years, but even being the big KISS fan I am, I wondered if it would be worth watching all the outtakes.
I agree, just put together a complete Unplugged without all the false starts - maybe even some rehearsal footage like the stuff on the now out-of-print DVD.
I forgot about the KISS My A** tribute album-related stuff. That's not really a KISS album, but seeing those clips from Leno and Letterman would be cool.
Millenium might be dicey due to licensing restrictions and I don't know if a few KISS cameos justify taking up 45 minutes of space on a music DVD.
Of course, I say this because I have that...on a bootleg.

Here ya go CBK-lots of details from Blabbermouth.net!
Should be a damn good one-especially the FIVE DVD version!!! I can't believe the Coventry show is in full, but I'm skeptical. I'm very, very hopeful that the '96 Detroit and '98 LA shows are complete. The '98 show only had a couple of songs shown that night on FOX. And, I very much hope the '00 NJ show is complete-not the hacked up version that aired on PPV. Still, I hope this news is exciting to you, as it is to me. Despite my complaints, this series has been fun as hell to keep buying and watching!
Dec. 18 is the release date, perhaps this heading should reflect that now.
KISS has set a December 18, 2007 release date for the third volume of a definitive DVD collection, "Kissology – Vol. 3 1992-2000". The set will contain nearly 10 hours of KISS live on stage, including songs that didn't make it into the broadcast or CD version of the MTV "Unplugged" performance; and the much-heralded Queens, NY Coventry Show from December 1973 — the band's first-ever concert filmed in makeup in its entirety.
"Kissology - Vol. 3 1992-2000" has been super-expanded to four DVDs, featuring over 100 live performances, commentary from Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Bruce Kulick and Tommy Thayer as well as a 20-page full-color booklet.
Five concerts are included:
* Detroit – 1992
* Detroit – 1996
* Los Angeles – 1998
* New Jersey – 2000
* Queens, NY - 1973
One version of the release will feature a fifth bonus disc of KISS' performance at the KROQ Weenie Roast on June 15, 1996. Tracks include: "Deuce", "Love Gun", "Calling Dr. Love", "Firehouse", "Shock Me", "100,000 Years", "Detroit Rock City", "Black Diamond" and "Rock and Roll All Nite".
For the complete track listing, click here.
I have no idea how to copy pictures, so here's the link to see the entire track listing-damn, the '00 show is incomplete-lame. But, it's a great set and IF this list is legit, you can see it all. I think it's real.

If this is supposed to represent 1992-2000, what's a concert from '73 doing on it? shouldnt it have been included on the first volume?

A KISSology Concert Series...now that would be ideal.

If this is indeed the real deal, this looks to be incredible and I personally cannot wait until the 18th. I wonder if there will be different 5th discs or is it only 1 bonus this time around?

It's interesting that the 4th DVD is the Coventry only and the bonus 5th disc is the Weenie Roast...which could have fit on one DVD. Sooo, they can jack up the price by adding a 4th DVD, when it could have been a 3 DVD set with the usual bonus 4th disc.
I'm calling Gene on the phone...
EDIT:the wording says "one version" has the Weenie Roast which could mean different bonus discs.

Judging from the track list on Kissonline.com and the "Kiss Alive Forever" book, Detroit 1992 is the complete show. There's no set list in the book for the Coventry show. All the other shows are missing songs, with the caveat that Unplugged appears to cover all the songs that were performed, but not all the full versions of them. Also, for the first time on any of these sets, a concert is split across two discs (the LA 1998 show).
The Weenie Roast is one of three bonus discs - the others are a Madison Square Garden show from the 1996 reunion tour, and a show from the Revenge/Alive III tour. No word on set lists for those.
Again, just enough minor annoyances to keep this from being just about perfect. (Like cutting off the end of the "God Gave Rock And Roll To You" video on the second set.)
But I'll be there...Dec. 18 is the release date I saw. (Can't remember if that was mentioned.)

Alan,
I think the Detroit 1992 show is missing songs also. I checked the set list on another site and a few seem to be missing.
Are you positive about those other bonus discs?

Per casaboontha.com the 11/27/92 show on Kissology is missing...Hotter than Hell, Firehouse, I Want You, Forever, Strutter, and Shout it Out Loud.

Well, I got beaten to the punch in reporting the news - blame an overlong workday for that - but this looks like a pretty solid set and ends where it should...in 1973, which I guess brings things full circle in terms of where the original KISS began and ended.
The original group's "reign" spanned 1973-2000 though obviously not in consecutive years and it's fitting that the KISSology series is ending where it goes.
Of course, if this one does well, I suspect Gene and Paul will mine more material "from the vaults" for future DVD releases. I'll have to consult my Detroit 1992 bootleg to see if the official KISSology release contains the complete show, but from a quick glance of the tracklistings, everything seems complete here.
In fact, I would say in terms of the time period, that this is more comprehensive than the previous volume, which missed any kind of video from the Animalize and Asylum eras and only gave us chopped up versions of eighties shows.
The release date according to KISS faq.com is December 18th, but I won't be waiting until, ahem, "KISSmas" for this one.
Okay Jimbo, you can insert a Krusty The Clown-like groan here as a quid pro quo for the one I did on you the other day.

You know....these sets are selling so well that perhaps they could make a huge collectors set containing all the volumes plus add a bonus disc you can only get with this set.
I'm saying this because I'm hoping I'll jinx it and make this NOT happen....although I have a sad feeling.......

Don't give Gene $immon$ any ideas!
Even if this scenario does play out, I'll just find a way to get a copy of the bonus disc, like I've done with the other KISSology bonuses. I have no conscience about burning copies because I will not buy the same thing twice, KISS fan or no.
As good as these sets have been - with Volume II having several demerits due to its slice-and-dice approach - they will never completely render the many KISS bootlegs out there obsolete.
There are still too many pro-shot live shows and TV appearances to fill up...well, another KISSology series!!

I think the most interesting thing about the new bonus discs is Sao Paulo from 1994 - I have an edited TV version and it's a great gig. Kind of weird - a Revenge-type set list with the Hot In The Shade staging. This was when KISS MY A** was released, so I guess it was the tour in support of that album. Here we go again trying to figure out how to score all the bonus discs!
KISSONLINE Q &A with Ken Gullic Sr. - VP for Fontana. Fontana distributes the KISSOLOGY DVD series. (Ken is pictured here with Gene)
The Koncentration Kamp: Will there be three bonus discs, as there have been on the first two volumes?
KG: Yes! Three in total, on initial pressings only. 1) The KROQ Weenie Roast/Irvine, CA 6/15/96 (first reunion performance in make up) [58 minutes]; 2) Madison Square Garden/Reunion Tour 7/27/96 [1 hour, 42 minutes]; 3) Sao Paulo Brazil 8/27/94 (Revenge/Alive III tour with Sphinx stage) [1 hour, 34 minutes] Sao Paulo is my fave of the three actually. Intense performance, they look fresh... different and classic tunes. Though the Weenie Roast is a trip to see again. RETAILERS AND COMPLETE SET LISTS PER SHOW T.B.A.
The Koncentration Kamp: Will there be any limited edition bonus goodies (like the back stage pass in Vol. 1, or the Phantom ticket in Vol. 2)?
KG: Yes, and no. The Coventry show (12/22/73) replaces any bonus goodies this time out, and will be available only on initial pressings, as well. There will be a cool full color booklet with comments again, of course.
The Koncentration Kamp: Easter eggs?
KG: Yes, this may still be in play, but I believe there will be three of them. Besides the amazing/surprising coolness of the Carnival of Souls studio footage, one other that I know of will be a soundcheck song (w/o make up) before the Brooklyn Bridge/MTV awards taping. Not sure which song, but safe to assume it ain’t “The Oath” or “Always Near You/Nowhere to Hide”... sorry kids!
The Koncentration Kamp: Don’t we already have THE PALACE ’92 performance on KISS KONFIDENTIAL?
KG: Nope. The footage on Konfidential, as cool as it may be, was a bit of a mash up between different shows, put to the Alive III audio only. I was lucky enough to see this footage in the editing studio w/Roger and Alex Coletti. It’s crystal clear, and I felt I had seen very little of it. It’s the pure Detroit audio/video... untouched/affected like Konfidential was. Though they did point out where a mic had cut out here and there, and other vox had to be flown in. It’s cool that “War Machine” made it, obviously. As well as “Parasite”.
The Koncentration Kamp: Have we seen the Behind the Scenes for “Unplugged”?
KG: Very little of it. What I have seen so far was super cool stuff, mostly narrated by Alex Coletti (Kissology and Unplugged producer). It’s very cool that he is shedding some light on his experiences (especially since he is such a fan and was clearly living a dream)... there’s riveting stuff. Ace and Peter almost back out of Unplugged, at the last minute... so songs like “2,000 Man” are rehearsed w/o them on the actual Unplugged stage (If I remember correctly, Paul takes a crack at it!) and THE highlight for me was when Alex sneaks behind the piano during the 6 man rehearsal of “Nothin’ To Lose” (at SIR) and plays the piano part. Peter smiles from ear to ear when it happens. Awesome!
The Koncentration Kamp: Don’t we have Dodger Stadium in bootleg circles?
KG: Nope... not this edit. This version is special because Alex and Roger and his crew unearthed the single camera feeds from each member and have constructed their own edit of the entire show. Conspiracy theorists unite, though, as Peter’s solo feed did not materialize... so the men (and women) behind the curtains admitted that they had to use dress rehearsal footage to fill in Peter whenever possible. This was not a Gene directive, kids, so relax!
The Koncentration Kamp: Commentary?
KG: Yes, though I didn’t witness any of it, I know that Gene, Paul, Bruce and toomy worked long and hard one day to get this all done. They did this right after we did our trophy presentation and all were in GREAT spirits. I do believe they all four did some stuff together where it made sense (e.g. convention/unplugged footage). Bruce later told me he heard and participated in some classic stories, as well as some all together new ones, with Gene and Paul. Sadly Scabby Doo was on tour and couldn’t make it the one day this session was scheduled.
The Koncentration Kamp: Will there be a KISSOLOGY 3 special on VH1 like there were for the first two?
KG: Yes, but this is for the band to reveal, I can say it will be very different, definitely bigger (like Volume 3 as a whole); some very cool surprises in store... I believe it will air LIVE at least a few weeks before KISSMASS! And that’s a wrap! (sorry.)

Third 'Kissology' Due In Time For Christmas
October 17, 2007, 11:00 AM ET Greg Prato, N.Y. The third release in Kiss' archival "Kissology" DVD series will arrive in time for Christmas. "Volume Three: 1992-2000" is due Dec. 18 via VH1 Classic and will feature four DVDs comprising nearly 10 hours of footage.
The first disc begins with a complete performance recorded at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit from November 1992. It also features the complete August 1995 "MTV Unplugged" set which found the original Kiss lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss perform together on stage for the first time in nearly 16 years.
The second disc chronicles the original lineup's subsequent successful reunion tours of the late '90s, including the Detroit kickoff of the 1996 outing. Five tracks recorded near the Brooklyn Bridge in New York for the same year's MTV Video Music Awards round out the DVD.
Disc three boasts a performance from the August 1999 film premiere party for "Detroit Rock City" and a June 2000 concert at New Jersey's Continental Airlines Arena. The fourth disc eschews the chronological structure to offer a December 1973 set from New York, when Kiss performed the majority of its self-titled debut two months before its release.
Certain versions of "Kissology" will also include a fifth disc, which features the group's June 1996 performance at L.A. radio station KROQ's Weenie Roast.
In 2005, Stanley explained that the Kissology series was inspired by classic film by another renowned rock artist. "That Scorsese/Dylan piece ['No Direction Home: Bob Dylan'] was eye opening, at least to me, in terms of how you can be immersed in a time capsule, and not only see the music and be part of the crowd, but also get a sense of who Dylan was then," he said. "That set a really high bar, and I think that is more likely our approach at this point."
