I can barely contain myself, as Disney is FINALLY going to release "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" (aka "Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow) in a 2 DVD set in November. Great googly moogly! Patrick McGoohan (Danger Man/Secret Agent/The Prisoner) stars in the 1700's era Brit drama as parish vicar by day, masked smuggler by night. A latter day Robin Hood if you will, ah ha ha ha ha ha! Originally shown on the Disney weekly TV show in the US in 1963 or 64. It was shown opposite the Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 64. I was terrified and fascinated by this show as a kid, the imagery and the song have stuck with me for 40+ years. Can't wait to see it again.

wow...I never saw it considering I was 3 when it was on TV. I'll have to rent this one and see what I missed.

I hope y'all got your copy of this when it came out, as Disney only produced 39,500 copies, and they were all sold out in 3 weeks. I can't find any on-line retailer that has a copy, outside of ebay and Amazon marketplace at 2 or 3 times the original price. Thank you Disney for finally releasing this, but shame on you for not producing more of them. (I got mine, ha...)

I foolishly passed on it at J&R the week it came out. Went back the next week, they had none left. I got lucky, managed to snag a copy from DeepDiscount during the recent sale.
Haven't actually watched it yet, of course...
