Although The Marshall Tucker Band is famous for its live prowess, there has never been a DVD featuring the original lineup of the band--until now. Carolina Dreams Tour '77 captures MTB onstage performing their biggest hits: "Heard It In A Love Song," "Fire On The Mountain," "Can't You See" and many more. In addition to the DVD, this 3-disc set also contains the same concert spread across two CDs. Either way, it's a wonderful slice of MTB in its early prime.

I'm going to have to pick this up. I saw them on this tour when they opened for the Dead at Englishtown. They were pretty darn good that day.

I have to admit I didn't have much time for the Tucker boys (or any country rock) during my punk period, but, surprisingly, Long Island was a hotbed for the genre, so a lot of it sunk in anyway. I've developed a much greater appreciation for it since. Ergo, I picked up a promo of this one yesterday at 'Rama. Besides, it was recorded at the Capitol Theater in NJ, practically in the neighborhood!
