I've pre-ordered the HD-DVD version.

I'm just gonna come right out and say this: I know I'm supposed to love Blade Runner, especially as a sci-fi fan, but I don't. Set a new standard for a vision of a crowded, dreary, dark future, copied by a zillion other movies and TV shows?--check. Cool Vangelis electronic score?--check. Oddball performance by Larry from the Newhart show?--check. Daryl Hannah looks great in the blonde fright wig and raccoon make-up?--check. But I saw it on the big screen again, a couple weeks ago, in the latest director's cut, and it still left me cold. I just don't think it's a great movie--but there's no accounting for taste.

Does it have the Harrison Ford narration?

It has all five versions of the film, including the new Final Cut. Here's a review of the HD-DVD.

I got this on the day of release and man was it hard to find. I think I got the last one in the store. I finally got around to watching it and I like the Final Cut. My best friend is one of the directors interviewed for the various documentaries in the DVD set. I ended up getting a set on Blu-Ray for my friend as a Christmas gift.

The five-disc set arrived just before I left to visit family. I haven't had a chance to watch anything but the packaging sure is cool. 8-)

I'm waiting until I have an HD or blu-ray player, then getting it. And I find I don't care about all the collector's extras when it comes to movies. I just want to view the Final Cut (for pleasure), and I would like to own the theatrical release version for historical comparison purposes.

Some interviews and extras would be nice, but only a little. I won't invest hours in watching that.

In general I agree with you. I am finding that most of the extras just aren't worth it. One of the ways I am cutting back this year is skipping the "extra-super-spectacular-(did we already say super?)-deluxe" editions. But this whole package just made me giggle like a small child when I opened it. And who would deny themselves that?

I bought the release (only $28.00 at Target) and the 3 disc import CD soundtrack from Amazon.

Excellent video and 5.1 mix. Only have watched "The Final Cut" so far but I am satisfied already.

So cool, I'm so into Vangelis at the moment!
