Description
Welcome to Rio De Janeiro and the Rolling Stones’ legendary show from Copacabana Beach. In front of 1.5 million people, one of the biggest free concerts in history, The Rolling Stones’ performance on February 18th, 2006 was a historic event; a critical moment in Rock ‘n’ Roll history. As Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts fire on all pistons from one track to the next, the crowd continues to meet their energy waving Brazilian and British flags while rocking out in the tropical evening sunset. With incredible staging and graphics, this fully restored and remastered concert from their ‘A Bigger Bang’ world tour now includes four previously unreleased tracks; "Tumbling Dice," "Oh No", "Not You Again," "This Place Is Empty" and "Sympathy For The Devil."

The deluxe 4 disc version also includes the previously unreleased show from the same tour at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

So the deluxe set has regular DVDs of the 2 concerts yet one of the standard set options has a Blu-Ray of the beach concert? Wouldn't you think the deluxe set would come with Blu-Rays of the 2 concerts?

I agree with your reasoning. What I'm guessing (just speculation on my part) is that they decided to use DVDs in the deluxe set to keep the price from going over $100, and felt that the difference from Blu-ray wouldn't be distinct enough anyway. There are no actual hi-def recordings of these concerts. The Blu-ray in the smaller set will only be an upscale from the standard-def videotape source.

If memory serves (I'm at work) wasn't the Brazil concert was originally part of the "Bigger Bang" Best Buy DVD box set?

And no excuse for using an extra video disc.

Yes, excerpts from this concert were "the original 2007 release" as part of The Biggest Bang.

Effectively charging $70 for a DVD of the Salt Lake City show is ballsy, even by the Stones' standards...

I have seen on at least two websites that there is allegedly a standard and Blu-ray DVD version of each configuration. The Rolling Stones website does not list such configurations.
