This has my name written all over it... I do hope they use the Infinite Zero mastering (or something of equivalent quality) and NOT the Collectables mastering. Even when they say "new mastering" I'm still dubious, but good packaging and artwork coupled with good mastering (even if it is old mastering) would be a Heavenly dream!

I guess I'm only a spud boy!

UPDATE:

I threw caution to the wind and splurged on the DEVO box.I ordered it through CD JAPAN and recieved it on 8/4/08 VIA EMS for a total cost of $164.64 US. A lot of Yen to be sure but with 7 discs in the box it works out to $23.58 per disc.Thats not too bad for Paper Sleeves with all the original artwork from the original vinyl releases.I mean ALL the artwork right down to a mini single replica of the "Working In A Coal Mine" 45RPM that was included with the original "New Traditionalists" LP! It is not playable but the song is included on the CD, which was not the case with the "Oldies" release. Most important is the fact that all the discs have been "Digitally Remastered by Isao Kikuchi in 2008". I AB'ed them against the 4 Oldies releases I have as well as the domestic "Freedom Of Choice" and can confirm that theses Japanese discs sound light years better than the crappy domestic releases still in print which sound like they were mastered from cassettes. The only disc that sounds about the same is the "DEVO LIVE" disc, which I have on a Rhino Handmade Numbered edition that is out of print in the US. If you are a DEVO fan this is a must.Worth every penny.

Thanks Mr.Fuse. I ordered mine a week ago and really looking forward to it. My friend receive his this week and he commented "I got my DEVO box on Monday...man, it's awesome. The sound, the packaging...it's amazing. I was so thrilled with the posters being recreated and the detail...you know the Japanese and their attention to detail...thank God they are so meticulous!!"

He has the same opinion as you, I sure hope I have mine for W/E!

Mine is on order as well. Can't wait! Guess I'll hold onto my Rhino "Devo Live" because, somehow I wound up with number 0002/5000!

Just got the mini-LPs of Freedom Of Choice and New Traditionalists. The sound is superb (surprisingly there's quite a bit of hiss, especially in "Working In A Coalmine"), and the packaging reproduction is fantastic!

Well I lucked out. Received my Devo box on Saturday and I forewarned my girlfriend that she best go shopping because I am loading up the carousel. Played then in date released order and as mentioned in other posts they sound fantastic.

The first two really grabbed me because you can hear the "spaces" in the music like you never heard on the domestics. The dynamics were also a relevation. The latter albums had so much more punch and the bass that it gave my sub-woffer a good workout. The packaging was surpreme, their level of detail and reproduction is second to none. I am very happy that I bought the box, fantastic group and the sound I always dreamed for.
