Just found out that Transatlantic's studio catalog was issued on the HQCD format in mini-lp sleeves in Japan in January with the live catalog coming in May.
For recent fans of the band part of this news is better than just seeing new Japanese issues of these discs. The first two studio albums, SMTP:e and Bridge Across Forever have been released in the original, very limited 2 CD versions which have long been sold out (and routinely sell on ebay in the $70-$80 range). This provides a much cheaper alternative to those that missed the original 2 CD versions.
As of today CD Japan still has copies of all these reissues. Note there are also promo boxed versions available from ebay sellers if you wish to pay the high premium for the collectable box.
Only real negative issue with these batch of releases is that any DVDs included are Region 2 so North Americans will need a special player to view them.
