I've almost always seen it as the former, but in the Anthology 1 liner notes the latter spelling is utilized... is one more "correct" than the other?

Good question. Their official website spells it as one word:

http://www.originalquarrymen.co.uk

But their original business card spells it as two words:

I personally would file under "Quarry Men" if your collection only includes the '50s pre-Beatles recordings.

(And now I have to ask if you have a second band in your collection named Quarry-something. :))

You betcha! 8-)

The Quarry-somethings were a little-known indie country-meets-trip-hop collective from Montgomery, Alabama... they only released one album in the mid-'90s (The Accent Besiege Modulation) that is long OOP on CD.

Did Rock Quarry ever record an album, or did he just make movies?

CDs with new recordings featuring the original members perpetuate the inconsistency.

"Open For Engagements" (1995) - two words

"Get Back - Together" (1999) - one word
