Has there ever been a complete/restored version of Live Rust on CD? I'm no Young expert, but my understanding is that all existing CDs were edited for running time.

Calijawn, AFAIK the edits, that were made to fit the original Live Rust LP into the (then-current) 74-minute time limit of the CD format, are the only version that has been released on CD.

The performances on the original album were drawn from multiple venues and edited together, while the film Live Rust consists only of the San Francisco (Cow Palace) show. There is a bootleg CD of the SF show that pops up periodically, which most people agree is simply a rip of the DVD audio.

Perhaps for the next volume of Archives, Neil will give us the full Live Rust restored on a CD? (not holding breath)

What are the edits on the LP that are not on the cd?

Apparently the performances of "Cortez The Killer" and "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)" are edited, along with various crowd noise/interaction throughout, all supposedly to get under the 74-minute mark.

And to answer my own question, according to Discogs.com there was a Japanese reissue in 1995 as part of the "Forever Young" series which supposedly restores the album to match the original LP.
