A few years ago, I put together a 2-disc rarities collection from Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde that is now woefully outdated. Backing out the tracks that later appeared on the reissued CDs and on "Pirate Radio," then adding everything I know of since, here is the latest version I can come up with. With 48 tracks, I suspect this will now be up to three discs. If anyone knows of anything I need to search for and purchase here, it will be much appreciated. I'd like nothing better than for it to grow to four. Thanks for your help.

Chrissie Hynde contributes a vocal (more of an atmospheric background vocal) to Jeff Beck's "Space for the Papa" from "Who Else".

Chrissie also appears on the Blind Boys DVD "Go Tell It On The Mountain: Live In New York". In addition to the live version of "In The Bleak Midwinter", Chrissie joins the group onstage for "Higher Ground", and the all-star finale "Down By The Riverside". Other guests include Robert Randolph, Charlie Musslewhite, Mavis Staples, Aaron Neville, Duke Robillard, John Medeski, and Michael Franti. You might be able to catch this show on your local PBS station around the holidays.

Not that I'm aware of. I have the LP. There's a number of great tracks on it.

I would KILL (and I do mean KILL) for someone to create a comp that includes "Blue Sun," the greatest performance by Pretenders Mark VI that stems from the Isle Of View sessions. Rhino completely missed the mark when the DVD was reissued, and it also did not appear on the old VHS Warner version. It DOES, however, appear in sterling sound on the original Warner "Isle Of View" laserdisc. No true Pretenders comp is complete without it.

The only ones you haven't listed are from the very rare 1978 cassette demos recorded during a Johnny Thunders session which resulted in her doing a cover of the Ronettes, "Do I Love You", with Steve Jones and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols; "Mercy Mission", an early take of "The Phone Call" from the first album and the never released "Suicide".

Another collaboration with Jeff Beck appeared on Good Rockin' Tonight: The Legacy of Sun Records.
They contributed their take of Mystery Train.

Funny, I just saw the Hybrid/Hynde track on a CD earlier today. FYI, there are also multiple mixes out there...

I picked up the Pretenders Record Store Day limited ed. red vinyl single yesterday. It has Break Up The Concrete on the A side and a previously unreleased take of Love's A Mystery live from KCRW, Los Angeles Sep. 29, 2008 on the B side.

The Concert for Kampuchea 2LP has not been released on CD.

I need to find the time to listen to the entire hour-plus interview, but Chrissie Hynde is the guest on Marc Maron's latest WTF podcast. I'm surprised at how down to earth she seems--I've heard so many nasty stories about her, I was under the impression that she was the Ariana Grande of the '80's. :rim: It's also kind of strange to hear her voice talking (and not singing).

Even though I'm largely done with new vinyl, I'm tempted to pick up the Chrissie Hynde live EP issued for the most recent Record Store Day. Anybody heard it? Comments?

If it was issued on CD, I'd have bought it immediately.
