Are the remastered Astral Weeks and Moondance Japanese CD reissues any different
from the domestic CDs we have owned for years?
I am heading to the post office to sign for the package and I am curious if anyone has
an opinion.

I received mine last week and there is a definite improvement in sound quality- much brighter and louder.
I'm still hopeful for a definitive remastering job......

Why buy the Japanese release, when you can get the UK & US one's cheaper?

Because the first 3 Warner Brothers titles have not been remastered domestically (or in the UK) and are not a part of the 2008 re-mastered catalog releases.

I missed this when it was first posted. Earl, was Moondance one of the cds you bought? If it sounds better than the crappy domestic release, I'll definitely order this.

Yes, Moondance is an improvement to my ears over the original domestic release.

Just played the Veedon Fleece remastered reissue. And it's by far still one of his best.
It's those first 7-8 albums which do blow me away...
