Since there was some discussion of the forthcoming Mick Jagger best-of (due in Sept.) in another thread, I dug up my own comp, Mick's Mix, which was one of the first CD-r comps I ever put together. Be interesting to see how it compares to the commercial release--will they license stuff from other labels? I did this years before Goddess in the Doorway and the Alfie soundtrack.

Throwaway
Just Another Night
Ruthless People
Dancing in the Street (w/ David Bowie)
Let's Work (45 edit)
Don't Look Back (w/ Peter Tosh)
Hard Woman (45 edit)
Memo From Turner
Don't Start Me Talkin' (w/ Jimmy Rogers & Keith Richards)
Sweet Thing
State of Shock (w/ the Jacksons)
Say You Will
Wired All Night
Pretty Lady (w/ Peter Wolf)
Da Doo Ron Ron (w/ Andrew Oldham Orchestra)
Angie (radio edit - w/ London Symphony Orchestra)
Wild Colonial Boy

Where's "I'm Ringing", the B-side of Ruthless People featuring Jeff Beck on lead guitar? I even sent you a rip of that a couple of years ago!

Ok, I thought I'd list the one I made for myself a few years ago...

1.Dancing in the Streets
2.State of Shock
3.Just Another Night
4.Hard Woman
5.Lucky in Love
6.Ruthless people
7.Let's Work
8.Say You Will
9.Throwaway (I named the CD after this track)
10.Sweet Thing
11.Don't Tear Me Up
12.Use Me
13.God Gave Me Everything
14.Lucky Day
15.Visions of Paradise

Nothing rare. I have "I'm Ringing" but totally forgot about it until someone above mentioned it

I love Mick's cover of "Use Me," nice 'n' funky!

I've got a CD (from Australia of all places) that features 12" mixes of 5 of Mick's '80s singles, and I'd swear that a few of them are completely new recordings, not just remixes. I don't see it even listed on Amazon.

Since reading this thread, I pulled out my comp and gave it a listen. I still like it but it's short at only approx 68 min.

Dano, your's looks like the best of both worlds. Especially since I'm lacking in the rarities dept. You guys both did great jobs!

Jimbo, I also love that "funky" version of "Use Me" as well. I really wish Mick would've done something else with Lenny.

Mine's REALLY short:
1. Just Another Night (this is really the only track I'd put on a Jagger solo comp)
2. Dancing In The Street (kind of a fun period piece, but a novelty)
3. Memo From Turner (great track. Maybe I'm wrong but isn't even the Performance version
really The Stones?)

End of comp.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very fond of the Stones. But as far as Jagger solo; see the above.
