I was going to post, "any cd's this year"; but you basically beat me to it!
I just can't see going back to the hassle of vinyl; especially with hi-res offering 95% of the sound quality of vinyl & NONE of the problems of vinyl (scratches, skipping, inner groove distortion, warping, wow, flutter, rumble, worn out pressing masters, varying vinyl quality, etc).

Wow, pretty underwhelming... I might be interested in these:

The mono Zappa is most interesting for me. I have the previous Zappa RSD releases except for last year's "200 Motels" rerecording which didn't make it to Canada for some reason. I have refused to pay $12.99 plus anywhere from $15- $30 for shipping for a 7" single. It simply doesn't cost that much to ship a single to Canada. If I came across these titles, I would pick them up. Not heading into the crowds of RSD for them. I'll wait a few days.

I'm super excited about the Third Power album. Great slice of Detroit sixties rock and roll/psych. If you are familiar with the album, I guarantee that the bonus tracks will blow you away!
I'm calling major bullshit and a raised middle finger to the Hendrix Family for Record Store Day! With all the great stuff they have sitting in the vaults, they once again are going to screw the longtime Hendrix fans. I've been vocal about wanting to see that cool stuff released instead of the same warmed over tracks - live or alt-mixed versions. But I just found out that this year's Jimi Hendrix RSD release is a "limited edition" version of Smash Hits with an alternate cover. That's beyond lame!

I'd be pissed if it was something cool & was vinyl only!
With hi-res digital, my interest in vinyl has pretty much dropped to 0; the one exception being where some idiot mastering engineer badly brickwalls the hi-res version; then the vinyl is usually superior because it can't be compressed that far due to the nature of the format.

The Allen Toussaint live album is a stand-alone vinyl release of 1975 material previously included on Rhino Handmade's OOP The Complete Warner Recordings.
Although these demos have been available online for nearly a decade, it will be nice to have an official release of this material. (Hoping for a lossless digital version at some point...)
Very honored and very excited. Light In The Attic will be using the liner notes I wrote for the Third Power's Believe album. Can't wait to see it in finished form when it comes out on Record Store Day!
Metallica: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! - Live at Le Bataclan. Paris, France - June 11th, 2003. CD, 10,000 copies.
This is under the subheading Record Store Day First Releases. Does that mean it'll get a general release at some point? I'm hoping Discorama will get at least one, regardless.
