Description
Iconic songwriter and prolific singer Steven Tyler reveals his highly anticipated debut solo. Tyler has co-produced the 15-track album entitled We're All Somebody From Somewhere, alongside legendary musicians/producers T Bone Burnett and Dann Huff in addition to Marti Frederiksen and Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three).

“I headed down to Nashville last spring to start working on this project, wrote some kick ass songs with some of Music City’s finest songwriters and now we get to share them with the world on July 15,” said Tyler. “Country music is the new Rock ‘n Roll. It’s not just about porches, dogs and kicking your boots up. It's a whole lot more. It's about being real. And nothing is more real than understanding We’re All Just Somebody From Somewhere.”

A long-time fan of the genre, Tyler’s ""powerful and raw"" (Rolling Stone Country) voice first hit the Country airwaves as ‘Love Is Your Name’ reached #1 on the Billboard Country Streaming Songs chart. He followed with the anthemic ‘RED, WHITE & YOU’, which Taste of Country called “an unapologetic slice of good-time commercial country, slickly produced and with a lyric aimed squarely at the work-hard, play-hard values of country’s core audience.”

In a time-traveling musical journey that spans over four decades, the industry institution does not hold back as he recounts in-depth stories of his life from his musical ancestors in Calabria, Italy all the way to Route440 and Nashville's Country Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and an Emmy Award. In addition to having nine #1 hits, 25 GOLD, 18 PLATINUM and 12 MULTI-PLATINUM album certifications, the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2013, Tyler was awarded with the Founder's Award at the ASCAP Pop Awards and was inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame.

Steven Tyler Confirms Solo Debut for 2014
by Dave Swanson
November 1, 2013

Not one for lounging around, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is readying his debut solo album for release early next year.

Tyler told Carter Alan of WZLX in Boston that he’s “finishing up some songs for my solo record that I’m doing,” adding “January, February, March” as possible release dates. Aerosmith just wrapped a tour of Mexico and were back home in Boston to catch their beloved Red Sox win the World Series. “I was right behind the pitcher’s mound — best seats in the house,” he said. “The Boston vibe is back!”

For now, it appears that any plans with Aerosmith will be put on hold, since Tyler has a lot on his plate these days. First up, the cycle fan will head to Italy with his son to promote the custom brand of Dirico Motorcycles, of which he’s a part owner.

After that? “I’m jumping on a plane and going up to Moscow to judge Miss Universe,” he said. “Somebody’s gotta do it, right?”

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER To Work On Solo Material In Nashville

AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER To Work On Solo Material In Nashville

AEROSMITH singer Steven Tyler will spend the first few months of 2015 working on material for a solo album. "I'm going down to Nashville [in] January, February, March, April to write and see what we get," he said during a video question-and-answer session at Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco on Friday (October 3). He added: "You know, doing an album is kind of like panning for gold. You get so much sand and dirt until you find a little nugget and you work on the nugget. I always go backwards, you know? 'Living On The Edge', why? Or 'Janie's Got a Gun', why? Who's Janie? And then it works. You fill in the blanks."

He continued: "I grew up with the EVERLY BROTHERS. So even 'Cryin''s got a little [sings with an exaggerated twang] 'There was a time when I was brokenhearted.' It started like that — of course I had to do it AEROSMITH-ish, which was more rocked out — but there's a piece of me that just loves country so much. And I'm not sure what kind of country that is, but it's got the fifth harmony, and anyone who knows who the EVERLY BROTHERS is — it's those kinds of melodies that are just so, so good."

Tyler told The Pulse Of Radio last year that his plans to go out on his own should not be a cause of concern for AEROSMITH fans. "I'm just doing a solo record because I think it's kinky, you know, to go write a song with Johnny Depp," he said. "I think it's ridiculous to go, you know, write a bunch of songs that I started five years ago and never finished. It feeds my passion, you know. But, no, the band's not breaking up. Me doing a solo record doesn't mean the band's not working on a record, you know what I mean? But I get that in the press one has to hear that from one lead singer of one AEROSMITH."

Tyler issued his first-ever solo song, called "(It) Feels So Good", in May 2011 while serving as a judge on "American Idol".

AEROSMITH's latest album, "Music From Another Dimension!", came out in November 2012 and debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 63,000 copies in its first week of release.

Wonder if this is going to be top 40 fodder of the worst kind, a return to early 70's Aerosmith, or................?

Most likely the former. Tyler doesn't care about making good music anymore, he wants to be contemporary.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Readying Country Album, Set to Sign With Big Machine

Steven Tyler is expected to sign with Big Machine Label Group within the next few weeks, and the Aerosmith singer is already working on a country album for the Nashville-based label, sources tell Billboard.

The deal could go down "anytime," but is due to happen "before the summer," according to an insider, although Tyler isn't waiting for the ink to dry to tout his new affiliation. On Wednesday's episode of American Idol, Tyler was featured in a taped segment profiling Big Machine president/CEO Scott Borchetta, season 14's mentor. Tyler joined Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire and The Band Perry, all of whom are signed to BMLG imprints, in praising the executive. Taylor Swift is the label's biggest act.

Tyler, who announced his intent to record a country album during a Twitter Q&A last October, relocated to Nashville in January and began collaborating with songwriters, including top tunesmith Brett James, who co-wrote Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova" and "Jesus Take the Wheel," as well as Martina McBride's "Blessed." Also on his list is the Cadillac Three's Jaren Johnston, who co-wrote current hits as Keith Urban and Eric Church's "Raise 'Em Up" and Tim McGraw's recent No. 2 hit, "Meanwhile Back at Mama's." Big Machine's A&R staffers are lining up Tyler's writing sessions. Tyler is also keeping an ear tuned to country radio. "He'll hear a song and go, 'Who was that?'" says a source.

A release date for Tyler's album could come as early as November, though a 2016 release is more likely. No producer has been confirmed for the project.

The rocker is no stranger to country music: In 1995, Garth Brooks took a reworked version of "Fever" from Aerosmith's 1993 album, Get A Grip, gave it a rodeo slant, retitled it "The Fever," and rode it to No. 23 on the then-titled Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart.

In 2011, Tyler and Underwood performed a medley of Aerosmith's "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" and Underwood's "Just a Dream" and "Undo It" at the Academy of Country Music Awards. That led to the two pairing for a 2012 episode of CMT's Crossroads, beamed live from Indianapolis the night before the Super Bowl. In Nov. 2014, Tyler presented a trophy at the CMA Awards with hosts Underwood and Brad Paisley.

A representative for BMLG declined to comment, as did Tyler's management.

Music From Another Dimension, which was released in November 2012. It was the band's first studio set of all original material since 2001's Just Push Play. Music From Another Dimension! spent nine weeks on the Billboard 200 chart (after debuting and peaking at No. 5) -- the shortest run for a studio set from Aerosmith.

Country from the man who sang on Aerosmith's legendary first 3 albums? That fits my definition of disgusting.

I really didn't care at all about this album before.

Now I care even less.

It'll be worse than Aerosmith's last two albums. I guess that's an accomplishment.

Steven Tyler Confirms Plans to Release Solo Country Album

One of Nashville’s worst-kept secrets is finally officially out: Steven Tyler is going country.

Rumors have persisted for months that Tyler was heading in this direction for his long-planned solo album, and he’d more or less confirmed them with recent comments highlighting the country influence in his most recent songs — and insisting that his decades of work with Aerosmith have sometimes had deeper roots in the country genre than many fans might have realized.

If there were any doubts as to what Tyler was trying to tell fans before, they were laid to rest on March 31, when he took the stage in the middle of a multi-artist bill at Nashville’s legendary Grand Ole Opry to make the official announcement. Fittingly, Tyler appeared during a two-song set by EMI Nashville artist Eric Paslay; earlier that day, Tyler had tweeted that he’s been “GROWIN SOME NEW SONGS” with Paslay and Kickstarter-backed singer-songwriter Lindsey Lee Taylor.

Tyler’s Grand Ole Opry debut comes days after reports that he’d signed a deal with Big Machine Records, the label that helped break Taylor Swift and has since gone on to build a roster of clients that includes Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts.

The idea of a Steven Tyler country album may come as a bit of a shock to some longtime Aerosmith fans, but as he argued in an interview with Rolling Stone last year, he sees his rural New Hampshire upbringing as putting “more country in me than people think” — and the lines between Nashville and arena rock have been blurred repeatedly since the rise of Garth Brooks in the early ’90s. If Bon Jovi can have a No. 1 country hit, why not one of the Toxic Twins?

What a load of crap.

If you want to compare Aerosmith to Garth Brooks and Bon Jovi, then why not indeed?
Yuck.

I've been an Aerosmith fan since '78 and I couldn't care less about this.

I'm with ya. Aerosmith was my 2nd ever concert in '78. Live Bootleg had just came out.

I'm not sure who ruined Aerosmith... Tyler or Perry. I can't leave Joe out of it because he's a pretty stout person like Tyler. Why would a great guitarist like Perry allow some of the shit that's come out of Aerosmith since 1994?

I saw them live several times when they were drinking & drugging. The were uniformly awful; likely due to intoxication.

Absolutely. If all I ever heard again were the 1st 3; I'd be quite happy (I do like Rock & Draw the Line, but the first 3 are stone cold classics).
