Description
Forever in the shadow of his legendary father Ernest (The Texas Troubadour), Justin Tubb was an underrated but profoundly talented vocalist and songwriter. After a slew of solo, duo and songwriter hits across the 1950s and '60s, Justin recorded the astounding, yet all but forgotten, 1969 Vinyl 'Things I Still Remember Very Well'. Remarkable vocal performances, the very best players and sometimes challenging material set the the Vinyl apart - the self-penned 'The Great River Road Mystery' is a tour-de-force of brooding, murderous intent, 'The Family Way' a dire tale of backwoods infamy and 'Things I Still Remember Very Well' a startling coming-of-age fable. Justin also visited the songbooks of room-mate Roger Miller, iconoclast Kris Kristofferson and poet-philosopher Tom T. Hall to stunning effect. This dynamic album is rescued from undeserved obscurity and presented remastered from the original master tapes in both stereo and rare mono (promo only) versions.
