Jazz-pop singer Bobby Caldwell has a new album coming out on Aug.23. I've got most of his previous discs, and I'm definitely a fan. I've been told that I'll be getting an autographed copy of the album for my birthday, as my dog is friends with his dog. (I kid you not. )

Now our dogs are "going steady", according to Facebook, without the benefit of actually meeting. My wife sent something nice to Bobby's dog, Stella, and we received four BC (personalized!) CD's that I didn't have in return. This includes House Of Cards. I think it's a typically solid Bobby Caldwell album. The songs are all original, as opposed to some of the standards he's recorded over the years. If he could find a way to appeal to the Michael Buble fans, I think he'd sell more albums and garner more fans. I don't think this CD is available domestically, which is a shame. It's a terrific album that deserves to be heard.

I wonder if Bob Dylan has a dog...
