Carrie Underwood Sets Release Date for New Album

Carrie Underwood fans, your wait is almost over. The country chart-topper has announced that she will release her much anticipated fourth studio album on Tuesday, May 1. The as yet untitled 19 Recordings / Arista Nashville release will be produced by Mark Bright, who also worked on Underwood's first three albums.

Last week, the title of the album's first single, "Good Girl," was revealed. The song, which was co-written by Underwood, will hit radio on February 23.

The next few weeks look to be very busy for the Grand Ole Opry member. Underwood will appear on "CMT Crossroads" with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler (which will premiere on CMT Sat. Feb.4 at 11pm ET), as well as the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 12. Underwood will also attend the upcoming Country Radio Seminar in Nashville and perform at the Nordstrom Nashville Symphony Fashion Show, both in late February.

Since the release of her 2005 debut disc 'Some Hearts,' Underwood has carved out one of the most successful careers in the history of country music. She has sold over 14 million records, and topped the country singles charts with 14 songs. Underwood has won five Grammy Awards, and is a nominee once again this year. She has also won Female Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, and has twice been named Entertainer of the Year by the ACM.
