Product Description
Raven presents for the first time ever on CD the classic album Jerry Jeff Walker (1972) by the famed Country artist JERRY JEFF WALKER. Most widely known as the writer of the oft-covered and immensely popular ‘Mr. Bojangles’, Walker came to prominence in the early 1970s as part of the progressive “outlaw” Country scene around Austin, Texas, alongside Willie Nelson, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon Jennings and Townes Van Zandt. Originally recorded for Decca / MCA in 1972, Jerry Jeff Walker completed his transition from New York folkie to bona fide Texas singer / song writer and this album is considered to be his masterpiece.

Walker was at the top of his game here and surrounded by a group of exceptional musicians (including members of the Lost Gonzo Band – Bob Livingstone and Gary P. Nunn, plus Craig Hillis, David Bromberg etc). The playing is earthy, funky and playful. Highlights include his own peerless ‘Hill Country Rain’ and ‘Curly and Lil’ plus a pair of Guy Clark’s finest songs ‘That Old Time Feeling’ and ‘L.A. Freeway’. “Jerry Jeff Walker is a spotless masterpiece, full of amazing songs, great playing, a sound that defines the era yet is timeless and plenty of passion and good-time spirit.” – All Music Guide. With superb quality audio, color booklet, Walker's original album notes and five bonus tracks from A Man Must Carry On (1977).

02. Charlie Dunn
03. That Old Time Feeling

Product Description
It’s rare to find original albums by major artists that have never been re-issued on CD. Due to repeated requests and by popular demand Raven presents the classic MCA albums Walker’s Collectibles (1974) and Ridin’ High (1975) by the famed Country artist JERRY JEFF WALKER. Originally recorded for MCA Records, Walker’s Collectibles appears on CD for the first time. It followed his transition from New York folkie to bona fide Texas singer / song writer with the landmark Jerry Jeff Walker album (also available on Raven RVCD-320).

Walker was at the top of his game here surrounded by the exceptional Lost Gonzo Band. Described by All Music Guide as “an up-tempo, rockin’ country record”, highlights include the self-penned ‘Salvation Army Band’ and ‘She Left Me Holdin’’ plus Gary P. Nunn’s captivating ballad ‘Well of the Blues’. Ridin’ High upped the ante with top-notch material such as Willie’s Nelson’s ‘Pick up the Tempo’, Bob Livingston’s ‘Public Domain’ and Guy Clark’s ‘Like a Coat from the Cold’. It’s a timeless, rowdy, good-time album – “pure Texas country drunk & roll” (All Music Guide).
