Charlie was clear that he and Ira had no thought that their music would be heard decades later; they just wanted to sell some publishing. They believed that no one would hear these recordings except some label guys, artists, and Acuff–Rose. Ten or fifteen people perhaps. But they performed with shimmering intensity and exactness. That was their way.

I have some Louvin Brothers songs on various artists comps, and have liked what I've heard, but I don't think a "Lost Recordings" set should be my first album by them. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good album or best of to start with?
