Ok...this is going to be sacrilege...but... A twinge of regret on this one... There is NO DENYING how incredible the music is...I love this ensemble. And the session reels are really fascinating to hear the process. Plus to hear Miles cuss. But the replay value to me is limited....it reminds me of the cds of early Fleetwood Mac albums where the breakdown takes break up the flow of the album proper. Granted I knew going in....but I am hoping the bootleg series goes back to a focus of live material...and I echo Dental Floss Tycoon...let's go deep in that early 70's Brew!

I agree – the focus should be on the live material. However, I love this release, and always enjoy studio chatter, especially from jazz sessions. I have about six 1971 European tour boots that are very high quality featuring Jarrett, Bartz, and Ndugu. Would love to see this group more, as well as the guitar bands from the following four years. Already a lot of 1969–70 stuff out there. I'm also a big fan of the 1981–82 band as well, tho the set list hardly changed that much during its existence. Still, I'd be glad to see a release. After 1982, I have zero interest in live Miles.

I did say twinge. Ha. Agreed that the fly on the wall aspect is fascinating. How there is a significant amount of work to be spontaneous - perhaps not significant in the amount of time, but definitely in the amount of focused creativity.

Rumored volume 6 release early next year will be three shows from Miles' 1960 European tour with Trane, Wynton, PC, and Jimmy Cobb.
That would be good, recently I realized that there wasn't any new Miles this year. I was going through withdrawal. I think I have all the shows from that tour on boots, but I'll pick it up anyway.

I have this 4CD set from that tour:
Superb recording too!
