I haven't played this album in years, but this has me interested. I think I'll play my old (edited) CD again and see if I might want to order this version.

Also, I have a general question about the site, and your categorization. To me, this release should be posted under "From the Vault", as it would seem to fit under the description "Discussion of Rock, Soul/R&B/Funk and Pop reissues, remasters, compilations and previously unreleased material." Rap has it's roots in soul/r&b/funk and Jazz and the Fresh Prince would probably even qualify as pop to my ears (and current pop charts are filled with rap). I just wonder what criteria is used to determine where it should go? Or was it a contentious issue at some point on the board and posters didn't want rap in "From the Vault" so it was decided to post it under "Different Strokes"?

If you're not nice
I have been thinking about closing the "Different Strokes" board because the segregation of music genres makes things harder to find, not easier. There are too many albums which defy easy categorisation -- the one in this thread being a good example -- and our community leans so heavily toward rock and roll tastes that only a limited number of such titles are posted anyway.
Simply putting all CD general releases into "From The Vaults" or "New Releases" would be better, but doing that has sometimes been met with protests or ridicule from people who don't want certain types of releases mixed in among the straight-ahead rock artists. This most recently happened with remasters for Samantha Fox and Divine (neither of which were moved to Different Strokes) and Andy Williams (which I did move), and it's the main reason that I've hesitated to get rid of Different Strokes.

I thought that being met with resistance might be why you put this in Different Strokes. I suppose if you totally eliminate this category and everything has to go into either From the Vaults or New Releases then the cries of anguish and gnashing of teeth might not occur. I tend to dislike categories for the reason you state- it makes it harder to find things. I like artists that mix genres and styles. Anyway, I was just curious and don't want to cause a disturbance. Thanks for your answer. It was nice to get a glimpse into your thinking on the subject. (And I think Andy Williams is a pop artist, not easy=listening. I think people who think that of him only remember Moon River. But I didn't enter the fray when this was an issue a couple of months ago and shouldn't say anything now. So please ignore this comment! )
