What was that like?

It was the best. He’s like the Santa Claus of rock ‘n’ roll. I just went, “Fuck it, I’ve got to say something to him!” But, like, what do you say? I told him he was a huge inspiration, then he takes my hand. It was definitely a musician handshake—the kind that doesn’t break your hand—but his hand felt like a paper bag full of strings. And then he just mumbled all of this stuff that I couldn’t understand, and bursts out in this big, bellicose laughter. I met him but I have no clue what he said to me! But then they played for an hour and a half here and it was amazing.
